Course Aims
This course provides the participant with the knowledge and skill to confidently recognise and respond to an emergency situation requiring basic first aid and resuscitation techniques.

The course is designed for individuals or organisations requiring basic first aid and is in accordance with workplace or community first aid policy and procedures.

• Principles of First Aid
• First Aid Hygiene
• Unconscious casualties
• Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Airway Management
• Bleeding
• Heart conditions

Duration
4 hours
2 hours (Refresher Course)

Assessment
Competency based and a formal practical assessment.

Certification Validity
One year

Course Accreditation
The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
