Rescue & Resuscitation (Electricians)
Course Aims 
This course will provide all those who undertake electrical work, or assist in carrying out electrical work with the skills and knowledge to be able to rescue and resuscitate a casualty in an emergency electrical setting.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate sufficient knowledge and skills necessary to safely release a person from an electrical source
- demonstrate efficient cardio-pulmonary resuscitation procedures on an approved training manikin in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
- demonstrate sufficient skills and knowledge to provide first aid for electric shock and burn casualties.
Duration
4 hours
Assessment
Competency based with formal practical and theoretical assessment.
Certification Validity
Two years
CPR (2 hours) component must be renewed annually.
Course Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) and adheres to the legislative requirements stated below:
Regulation 29 of the Electricity (General) Regulations 1997 requires:
“Persons required to carry out, or help in carrying out, electrical work must be suitably trained in rescue and resuscitation in accordance with recognised practices in the electricity industry.”
