The ALS program will provide the participant with the direction and opportunity to demonstrate and initiate competence in the initiation and provision of life sustaining assessments and interventions .

- Dysrhythmia monitoring

- Defibrillation
- Pharmacological interventions
- Electrical safety issues
- Fluid therapy and alternative access to circulation
- Professional, legal and ethical aspects in relation to BLS and ALS

18 hours
Assessment
Theory and practical competency based assessments.
Certification Validity
Following the achievement of competence, the registered nurse must be ALS certified annually, with the individual responsible for maintaining skills on a regular basis between annual recertification.
